Selected Documentary Projects
Our Wishes Project
In 2007, I asked 63 first graders in Raleigh, NC, “If you had one wish for the world, your family or yourself, what would it be?” View the series of portraits of children holding their wishes.
The Motherhood Project
In 2006, I started exploring how becoming a mother changes a person. I also wanted to capture a diverse picture of motherhood today. Here are excerpts from some of my interviews. The full interviews will be published in a book eventually.

Eat These Words: Internet Visionaries
In 2001, after working through the Internet boom and bust in San Francisco, I gathered stories from some of the renegades who first helped shape the medium. I launched a small, dynamic website in late 2001 featuring the stories. Here are excerpts from eight, such as Craig of Craig’s List, Benjamin Weil of SFMoMA, and Jon Ippolito of the Guggenheim.

Any signs of hope this election? Yes! Lots!
In our world of time-saving, mass-produced everything, the number of people who are taking the time to create something by hand to communicate their support for Obama really signals a heartfelt political engagement that hasn’t been present in a long, long time. This movie of signs from across the country is set to the song “We are the ones,” by will.i.am, as well as to quotes from similarly inspiring past leaders.
